We have implemented a new and more balanced scoring method. We first rank the flight based on the existing points of the top five teams in the flight just prior to tournament play. This accurately represents the level of competition present. That averaged value is the basis for the total points any team in that flight can win at the tournament.
When tournament play is complete and teams are awarded points, we subtract 20% of the team's own points when calculating their points. This prevents strong teams from entering flights with weak competition and then easily winning their own points again.
Teams with lower than average points in the flight will gain a greater reward for defeating teams stronger than themselves.
Finally, the resulting value of maximum points possible is divided according to the team's final placement. Champions win all possible points after their 20% deduction, Finalists win half of that value, and Semi-Finalists win one quarter. |

Heritage Registration - Sportability
Each Player needs to register and pay their registration fees.
- Preferred – online using Sportability. Go to www.heritagesc.com. Scroll down a little bit until you see the “Club Affiliates” section on the left side of the page. Click on the SPORTABILITY REGISTER HERE logo. This will open the application in a new window. Select the correct team and click on the red “Register Now”. Complete the required fields on each page. At the end of the registration process. Sportability will email a registration receipt with an attachment of the CYSA Membership form with all of the information entered on-line prefilled on the form. Update any missing fields including the player’s mothers’ birth month and day (not year). Print off 2 copies of the CYSA Membership for and sign/date both copies.
- A player only needs a Manual CYSA Membership form if they do not have internet access. We use the CYSA membership form to collect information from the player. Their registration information is then entered into Sportability by the team manager or club registrar.
- All players and coaches/managers/trainers must have their registration information entered into Sportability as that is the tool we use to track payments and to send email notices to the club or to just team managers, coaches etc.
- Payment Options:
- Full Payment on Credit Card: The final step is to select a payment option: payment in full or flex payments. The flex payment option has an initial payment 25%, and then 3 payments of 25% each. The extra payments will have a $1 processing fee per payment.
- If the player is not using a credit card to pay, they can enter the discount code: U10chk for a U10 team, U11chk for a U11 team, U12chk for a U12 team etc on the payment page. This will reduce the payment amount to $0. Payments can then be made by check or cash.
- If a player is requesting a scholarship, they need to complete a scholarship application form and return within 14 days.
- If a player is paying a partial amount on a credit card. Send me their name, the team name and the amount they will be charging. I will set up a discount code for them to only enter the amount they want to charge on a card. If they owe any additional amount, they must pay by check or with cash. If they are requesting to pay the balance by cash or check on a payment plan, they must request to set up a contract w/ Rosana Gastello.
- If a player is a sibling, they will automatically get the sibling discount if they register all family members at the same time. If they have registered a player already, send me their name, the team names of the siblings and I will send them a discount code for the $50 sibling discount for the additional registrations.
- If a player is requesting to pay partial payments of cash and/or checks on a payment plan, they must request to set up a contract w/ Rosana Gastello.
- If a player registration fees are unpaid, that player’s pass may be pulled from the team and the player will be ineligible to play until payments are made.
- Do not register the same player multiple times, it creates duplicate entries and possible duplicate charges. Let me know if you need another copy of their CYSA membership form as I can have one reprinted.
When the online registration is completed in Sportability, they will receive an email with a .pdf file attached. This is the CYSA registration form.
- If your team is US Club only and is not registering with CYSA, they need to print out 1 copy of the form and return the form to their team manager.
- All CYSA teams need to edit the file to include enter any missing date. Please NOTE: The Mother’s birth month and day are required. Print 2 copies of the form. Both copies must be signed in “wet” ink. Blue/colored ink preferred. Return to the team manager.

Understanding leagues and divisions
(Your coach will know which ones he/she wants to register for.) |
|
CYSA:
If you are playing in CYSA, you must determine if you are a division 1 or a division 3 team – your coach will know. Each division is also broken up into brackets: Gold, Silver, Bronze etc depending on how many teams are in the age group. You will need to apply for your playing league, division and bracket. The gold bracket is limited to 6 teams. If you are division 3, our area playing league is called District IV Competitive League. However, your coach may also request to play in District III’s Al Caffodio League. Both playing leagues can be found at: www.mysoccerleague.com. You must apply for District IV Competitive Playing League if you are also applying for Al Caffodio. You are not guaranteed to be accepted in Al Caffodio. If you are division 1 and you are U11 or older, the playing league for CYSA is called GSSL www.goldenstatesoccer.com which is a combination of District III and District IV div 1 teams. If you are division 1 and you are U10 and younger, the playing league for CYSA is District IV Competitive League or you may apply to play in District III’s Al Caffodio or to US Club Soccer.
(CYSA Codes: Heritage Soccer Club is in District “4”, League “18”, Club “00”.)
How to Register Your Team for a CYSA Playing League
Our district IV rep, Mike Garcia, will email all teams when it is time to sign up for your playing leagues. Deadlines apply. GSSL is due first. GSSL is done on-line and has a paper form. You must log on to www.goldenstatesoccer.com and set up a UserID and Password. Note your account userid and password. You will need this so do not forget it. You will also complete a paper form. You will need to provide a tournament and league play history of your team from last year. CYSA District IV or III is a paper form and all fees are paid by the league.
US CLUB:
The playing league for US Club Soccer is called Norcal Premier (NORCAL), the web site is http://www.norcalpremier.com/. At this time, NORCAL offers Premier and Regional spring leagues, fall leagues, U9/U10 playdates and their State Cup Competition. NORCAL does not place teams in Div 1 or Div 3 categories but does contain brackets such as Premier, Gold and Silver. Coaches will know which league they wish to play in. After a team is registered, coaches are asked to rank other teams in their area that have also registered to play. From this ranking, initial brackets are created. Teams can move up or down in the brackets based on their win/lose record. The goal is to place teams where the competition is most evenly based. For NORCAL State Cup, rosters will freeze at 26 players before the first game. US Club recommends placing younger less experienced players from your club on your US Club State Cup team roster to use when your team is short players. No Guest players and no roster updates are allowed once the 1st game is played. State Cup is played in the Fall and is formatted using bracket play. When the brackets are announced, each team is responsible for scheduling their assigned home games. Game results are reported and new brackets are formed based on records. Final brackets are set where only 1 team per bracket advances.
How to Register Your Team for a US CLUB Playing League:
To register, go to: www.norcalpremier.com and register your team per the instructions. If you haven’t already done so, you will need to create an account before you register your team. Note your account username and password. You will use this to update roster information and game results.
Do not pay directly. Once registered, contact our District IV rep to arrange payment.
